SCULPTURAL COUTURE

Each piece in this series is hand-crafted and hand-draped using sustainably-sourced materials. Rooted in ritual and rhythm, these garments are meant to be inhabited. Created while listening to the repetitive melodies and incantatory tones of traditional Gnawa music, I allowed sound to guide my hands and shape the form. Each coil, twine and knot is a response to what I felt not just what I heard. These Sculptural garments are vessels of movement, memory, and sonic embodiment.
